The Department of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology will serve as a center for excellence, commitment to professional education, basic and translational research in speech, language and hearing science and direct clinical services including community education. These activities will be dedicated to improve the quality of life for individuals affected with speech language & hearing disorders across their life span. The department will cultivate excellent, creative, interdisciplinary and diverse approaches to research and clinical practices in the fields of Speech & Hearing.

Infrastructure

Reception
The hospital reception serves as the first point of contact for patients. It is equipped to handle registration and initial triage. Patients are referred to the Department of Audiology and Speech Therapy directly or via ENT or Pediatrics. The reception is well-organized to ensure smooth patient flow and timely referrals.

Audiology Lab
The Audiology Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to assess and manage hearing and balance disorders. The lab is designed and constructed in compliance with ANSI standards, ensuring an acoustically controlled environment for accurate testing. It provides students with hands-on experience in diagnostic audiology and supports clinical training and research in hearing sciences.

Speech Communication Lab
The Speech Communication Lab is designed to facilitate the evaluation and training of speech, language, and communication disorders. The lab supports both clinical practice and research, offering tools for acoustic and perceptual analysis of speech. Students are trained in evidence-based intervention techniques for various speech-language pathologies in children and adults.

Computer center
The computer centre supports academic and research activities for students. It is equipped with systems and internet access for project work, literature reviews, and presentation preparation. Students regularly use it for PowerPoint development and data analysis. It plays a key role in fostering digital literacy and academic engagement.

Multipurpose Hall
The multipurpose hall hosts a variety of therapeutic and educational activities. It is used for group therapy sessions, creative tasks like poster-making, and interactive workshops for children with special needs. The space is flexible and conducive to collaborative learning and engagement.

Library and Learning Centre
The library provides access to textbooks, journals, and reference materials relevant to audiology and speech therapy. It includes a quiet learning space for students and faculty. The learning centre promotes continuous academic growth and supports evidence-based practice.

Case History Room
This dedicated space ensures privacy and comfort for patients during case history interviews. It is sound-treated and adequately furnished to allow focused interaction. The room facilitates detailed and confidential information gathering essential for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Recording Room
The recording room is acoustically treated and equipped with the necessary tools for audio and speech assessments. It supports high-quality audio recording, analysis, and playback. This facility is integral for diagnostic evaluations and therapy documentation.

Disabled-Friendly Infrastructure
The hospital is designed to be inclusive and accessible. It features disabled-friendly washrooms, ramps, and lift access to all floors. Signage and support facilities ensure ease of navigation for patients with mobility challenges, promoting equitable healthcare access.
