The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Physiotherapy in association with IIC and Environmental Committee at SGT University celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2025.

The event was held in Makrola village to spread awareness among rural women.

Females were educated about the harmful effects of plastic sanitary pads on health and the environment.

Dr. Renuka Jakhar and Dr. Snigdha Tiwari distributed biodegradable sanitary pads to 50 females free of cost to promote eco-friendly menstrual hygiene.

The campaign highlighted the health risks of using plastic-based sanitary pads and their environmental impact.

Participants were also be made aware of the role of Physiotherapy in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

A demonstration session showcased sustainable menstrual hygiene practices.

This initiative will encourage both the public and students to learn more about the OBG domain in physiotherapy.
