Swasthya Sakhi: Empowering ASHA Workers for Maternal Health

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, and Dashmesh College of Nursing, SGT University, in collaboration with Subdivisional Civil Hospital, Pataudi, organized a one-day workshop, “Swasthya Sakhi: Empowering ASHA Workers for Maternal Health,” on 28th April 2025 at Subdivisional Hospital, Pataudi.

Chief Guest: DR. ALKA SINGH (Civil Surgeon, Gurugram)

Guest of Honour: DR. NEELIMA NAGPAL (Deputy Civil Surgeon, NHM, Gurugram)

Keynotes by DR. ALKA SINGH, DR. NEERU YADAV (SMO), and PROF. (DR.) SUNIL KUMAR DULAR (Dean) highlighted the importance of ASHA workers in improving maternal health.

The workshop focused on training ASHA workers in identification of high-risk pregnancy, antenatal/postnatal care, referrals, newborn care, and Kangaroo Mother Care.

Role play was performed by B.Sc. 6th Semester, M.Sc. 1st Year, and P.B.B.Sc. 1st Year students.

Participants reported significant gains in knowledge and skills.
