Inauguration of the Distinguished Speaker Series by the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts (FHSL) at SGT University

FHSL embarked into a new journey with the launch of the Distinguished Speaker Series. In that context, the introductory session was held on April 17, 2025, on the SGT University campus.
The chief guest for the event was Dr. Arvind Gupta (IFS - Retd.), currently the Director of the prestigious Vivekananda International Foundation in New Delhi. As a stellar diplomat, Dr. Gupta held several important positions, including that of Deputy National Security Adviser (2014 to 2017) and subsequently Secretary, National Security Council, Government of India.
The purpose of the Distinguished Speaker Series is to discuss and analyze the wide-ranging dimensions of evolving global geopolitics that is marked by strategic alliances, rifts, and uncertainties.
Dr. Gupta delivered the keynote address on an extremely significant and consequential topic titled "The Rising Stature of India as a Global Power in Shaping the Trajectory of the Emerging World Order". It was a scintillating and insightful lecture that deliberated and explored the evolving complexities of the emerging world order and India's rising potential as a global power and voice of the Global South for intervention while shaping the direction of the evolving global order. The address concluded with a Q&A session that saw overwhelming participation by the students.
