Inauguration of International Exchange Program with Utah Tech University, USA

The Office of International Relations, in collaboration with the Faculty of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (FNYS), Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Indian Medical System at SGT University, Gurugram, organized an inauguration ceremony to welcome students and faculty from Utah Tech University, USA. The event, held on 5th May (Monday) at 2:00 PM IST in B-Block, TV Studio, marked the beginning of an enriching international academic exchange. FNYS played a pivotal role in this collaboration by showcasing the practical and therapeutic applications of yoga and naturopathy. Through structured sessions, demonstrations, and hospital visits, FNYS introduced the delegates to holistic health practices, emphasizing the integration of traditional Indian healing systems into modern, patient-centered healthcare.

As part of the international academic exchange program, students and faculty members from Utah Tech University, USA, actively participated in daily yoga sessions organized by the Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (FNYS), SGT University, Gurugram. The sessions were conducted every morning from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM for 15 consecutive days. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Sunil Singh Yadav, Assistant Professor (BNYS, MD Yoga), participants learned a wide range of asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and relaxation techniques, promoting both mental and physical well-being.

In addition to the yoga sessions, the delegates visited the Naturopathy and Yoga Hospital at SGT University, where they were introduced to key naturopathy treatment modalities. They were guided by Dr. Sangeeth Somanadhapai, Dean, FNYS, and engaged in insightful discussions with Dr. Joychand, Assistant Professor, along with other naturopathy experts. The students explored therapies such as hydrotherapy, therapeutic fasting, acupuncture, and diet therapy, gaining practical exposure to their role in holistic and preventive healthcare. They also enjoyed the specially curated naturopathy diet, enhancing their immersive experience. The program was highly appreciated by the participants, who expressed gratitude for the mental relaxation, physical vitality, and cultural enrichment it provided. It served as a meaningful introduction to the therapeutic and integrative potential of yoga and naturopathy in global healthcare practices.
