Ms. Rupali Kakaria is an Assistant Professor at SGT University, Gurugram in the Faculty of Design. She has completed her Master’s in Fabric and Apparel Science from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi with a ‘Gold medal’ and is a recipient of the University Postgraduate Scholarship. She also holds a ‘College award’ as a topper of Bachelors in Fabric and Apparel Science from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. She has also qualified UGC NET exam for Assistant professor. She is pursuing Ph.D. from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi and has submitted her thesis. In her Ph.D. research, she has developed multifunctional textiles with mosquito repellent, antibacterial and UV protective properties using essential oils through microencapsulation.

She is an enthusiastic professional and her ever expanding field of specialization includes textile science, textile finishing, dyeing & printing, smart & sustainable textiles and craft studies. She is avid researcher and has published her work in various reputed Journals, books and conferences and also presented her work in international conferences of high repute. She utilizes her passion to provide insights to her students, and her self-reliance and versatility blend flawlessly with her unwavering determination.
