On February 27th, 2025, the Faculty of Design at SGT University organized an inspiring ‘Workshop on Advanced Draping Skills’, conducted by renowned fashion expert Mr. Julferkar Ali Bhutto. The session brought together passionate design students, who explored the endless creative possibilities of fabric draping on dress forms.

Mr. Bhutto, known for his innovative approach to design and draping, guided students through the process of fabric manipulation — from basic techniques to more experimental and avant-garde styles. The workshop encouraged students to think beyond traditional garment construction and instead, sculpt unique silhouettes directly on the dressform.

With every fold, tuck, twist, and pleat, the students unleashed their creativity, transforming plain fabrics into dramatic, wearable art. The hands-on session allowed students to experiment freely, learning to work with the natural fall, texture, and behavior of different fabrics.

This engaging and interactive workshop not only enhanced technical skills but also sparked fresh creative ideas among budding designers. It was a true celebration of innovation, where imagination met craftsmanship.
