Holi Celebrations through Block Printing
March 13, 2025

On the occasion of Holi, the B. Design students (Fashion) engaged in a creative and educational project centered on traditional block printing techniques. Over the course of two days, on the 11th and 12th of March 2025, the students designed and printed beautiful Kurtas and T-shirts featuring festive slogans such as "Happy Holi" and "Bura Na Mano Holi Hai." This activity not only allowed them to explore and master the art of block printing but also gave them an opportunity to interact with the SGT faculty and student body.
Throughout the process, students learned the intricate techniques of block printing, which included selecting fabrics, applying colors, and using traditional stamps to create vibrant patterns. The designs, which showcased both creativity and cultural relevance, were sold to SGT faculty and students, providing hands-on experience in product creation, marketing, and sales.
The event was not only a celebration of Holi but also served as a platform for students to showcase their skills and learn the practical aspects of fashion design, from conceptualization to commercialization. The success of this initiative highlighted the importance of blending cultural traditions with modern design practices, enriching the students' overall learning experience.
