Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme in Sadhrana

The Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, SGT University, in collaboration with SVSP and Udaan School for Experiential Learning, successfully conducted a Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme on March 26, 2025, in Sadhrana, Gurugram, Haryana. The initiative aimed to support, empower, and include individuals with disabilities within the community.
Under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Madhavi Sharma, Dean of Faculty of Education, and Mr. Ravinder Saini, Head of the Department of Special Education, the programme engaged 40 students in fieldwork to assess and address the special needs of the villagers. The coordination was efficiently managed by Ms. Priyanka Yadav, Ms. Poonam Talwar, and Mr. Awadhesh Yadav, Assistant Professors at the Faculty of Education.
During the programme, the team identified eight key special needs in the village. The event focused on vocational training, skill development, accessibility awareness, and inclusive education, aiming to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities. Through interactive sessions and community engagement, the initiative fostered awareness and advocacy for equal opportunities, reinforcing the commitment to an inclusive society.
