The Nutricare Club, Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS), proudly organized and successfully concluded a Technical Session and One-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Texture Analysis & Water Activity of Food Samples” on April 16, 2025, Wednesday at SGT University.

The event was ably coordinated by Dr. Akanksha Yadav (Advisor) and Dr. Deepali Sharma (Co-Advisor) under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr. Barkha Bhatnagar Ma'am, Dean, FAHS.

The session was graced by the honourable presence of Prof. M.Ejaz Hussain, Dean Academics, who shared his words of wisdom and motivated the students with his encouraging thoughts on the importance of research-based learning and technical skill development in the field of food and nutrition.

The workshop was facilitated by Scientific and Digital Systems (SDS), with Ms. Ragini Sharma, Product Manager – Technical Support Division, SDS, leading the technical session. She thoroughly explained the principles, functions, and applications of texture analysis, water activity measurement, and headspace gas analysis. Her engaging presentation was followed by a live demonstration of the instruments, offering participants valuable practical insights into food quality and safety evaluation.

The workshop provided a unique learning platform for students and faculty members to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. The event concluded on a high note with active participation, interactive Q&A sessions, and positive feedback from attendees. It was a remarkable step towards enhancing technical competencies in food science.
