FAHS successfully hosted a Popular Lecture Series

The Department of Life Sciences, FAHS successfully hosted a Popular Lecture Series on May 1, 2025, sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, New Delhi. The event featured a series of insightful lectures by eminent speakers, beginning with Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Johri from Jawaharlal Nehru University, who delivered a talk on "Vaccine Development: From Jenner to Genetics." This was followed by a talk by Dr. Vijay Pal Singh from CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi, who shed light on "Antimicrobial Resistance: A Food Perspective," Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Khandait, Head of the Department, Medical Microbiology, SGT Medical College, SGT University, Gurgaon, also emphasised the importance of “Quality Control Techniques in Microbiology” in her lecture. It was a lively and interactive session, where approximately 120 students from various schools, along with faculty and professionals, engaged in thoughtful discussions and received comprehensive responses from the speakers. Overall, the lecture series was a highly enriching experience that significantly benefited the academic and professional development of the participants.
