Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri | Registrar | SGT University

Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri is a distinguished academic administrator and policy expert with over 43 years of experience in higher education and the Indian Armed Forces. A Ph.D. holder in Public Administration, Dr. Khanduri has served in various leadership roles, including Registrar of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (a Central University), Joint Secretary at the University Grants Commission, and most recently, Registrar at Sri Guru Ram Rai University.

With 15 years of service in the Indian Navy and nearly three decades in academic administration, Dr. Khanduri brings unmatched expertise in academic governance, strategic planning, policy formulation, and institutional development. During his tenure at UGC, he contributed to key regulations that shaped higher education in India and led over 50 inspections for granting university status under various UGC provisions.

He has published several research papers in UGC CARE and AIU-listed journals and remains actively involved in academic committees, including NAAC peer reviews and NEP implementation panels. Dr. Khanduri’s focus is on developing a strong academic ecosystem aligned with the National Education Policy, enhancing institutional quality standards, and positioning the university as a hub of innovation and excellence.
